Went to the ‘Friends Present’ showing of “The Lives of Others” today, and here we are getting comfy waiting for the film to start. (It was very good by the way.)
The Picture House first opened in 1921, and has so far survived nearly becoming a carpet warehouse in the 1960s, plans for redevelopment in 1999, and severe flooding, amongst other things. It’s a fantastic cinema, and one of the best things about Hebden Bridge. You can see what delights it will screen next here if you fancy a visit.
